The four members of the BCCI selection committee are closely monitoring the IPL 2024 processes and have even visited the stadiums for a couple of matches. The last week of April, when the first half of the current IPL 2024 comes to a close, is probably when the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee will announce India's final 15. This team will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies. The deadline for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to submit teams for the World Cup is May 1. But up until May 25, each country will have the chance to make just one alteration to their starting lineup.

In order to provide the selectors all the information they need to assess each player's form and health, BCCI is reportedly planning to choose their team for the 2024 Indian Premier League at the end of the first half of the league stage. The story went on to say that the players whose club doesn't advance to the IPL 2024 playoffs will travel early to the USA in an effort to adjust to American weather.

"The Indian team will be selected some time during the last week of April, the time by which the first half of IPL will be over and national selection committee will be in a position to assess form and fitness of the contenders," the senior BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity. The first batch of cricketers will leave for New York immediately after the end of the league stage of IPL on May 19. Those players, whose teams won't qualify for the final four will be going early, like it happened during WTC finals last year,"
the source added.

In addition to the 15-man roster, the Indian team, along with all other T20 World Cup competitors, will have a few stand-by players in case any player from the starting squad gets hurt or has to withdraw due to unavoidable circumstances. This will help to prevent a logistical nightmare.
