Rishabh Pant, who joined the Delhi Capitals IPL 2024 pre-season camp on March 13, expressed that he feels like he is making his debut again. He was both nervous and delighted about this.
On March 12, the BCCI gave Pant the all-clear. Pant had been out of the game since his vehicle accident in December 2022. After undergoing rigorous rehabilitation and recovery for 14 months, the wicketkeeper-batter is now anticipated to return.
Pant has now become a part of the Vizag team as they prepare for the 2024 IPL season.
An emotional Pant went on to explain that playing cricket again felt like a miracle, especially after his rehabilitation, and thanked the fans, the BCCI, and the National Cricket Academy personnel for their help during his recuperation.
“To be able to play cricket again after everything I’ve been through is nothing short of a miracle,” an emotional Pant said. “I’m grateful to all my well-wishers and fans, and most importantly, the BCCI and staff at NCA. All their love and support continues to give me immense strength.”
Pant would also express his excitement about returning to DC and playing in the IPL, which he adores. The wicketkeeper went on to thank the Capitals' owners and support staff.
“I’m excited to return to Delhi Capitals & the IPL – a tournament I enjoy so much. Our team owners and support staff have been by my side throughout with their full support, guidance, and co-operation at every step, for which I am deeply grateful. I can’t wait to reunite with my DC family and play in front of the fans again.
DC will start their IPL 2024 campaign in Mohali as they take on Punjab Kings on March 23.
