Start of an Era:

In the IPL 2011 mega auction, Rohit Sharma was selected by the Mumbai-based franchise. Since then, he has become nothing short of a legend for the Mumbai Indians. Throughout his 14 years wearing blue and gold, Rohit has participated in 199 IPL games and amassed 5,084 runs with a strike rate of 129.86 and an average of 29.39. In 195 innings with MI, he has amassed a century and 34 fifties, his highest being 109.

Captain of Mumbai Indians:

In 2013, he replaced Ricky Ponting as captain of the Mumbai Indians. In his first year as captain, Rohit led MI to its first championship. Mumbai experienced a golden age under his leadership, making it to the playoffs twice and winning the trophy five times in ten years (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020).

Rohit Sharma’s Achievements in IPL:

In 2011 and 2013, Rohit won two Champions League T20 titles with MI, the latter year as captain. At an average of 29.59 and a strike rate of nearly 130, the 'Hitman' is MI's all-time leading run-scorer with 5,357 runs in 208 matches and 204 innings, including 35 fifties and a century in 204 innings. Rohit Sharma, then playing for the Mumbai Indians, scored a hat-trick against the Deccan Chargers in the 2009 IPL.
