Ranji Trophy Finals: Mumbai won the Ranji Trophy Finals for the 42nd Time

This is their 42nd title in the history of 89 years

Finally, Mumbai won the final match of the Ranji and etched their name list of winners. Mumbai has won the finals after a gap of 6 years and has made their state proud.

MUM vs VID: 1st Inning -

Vidarbha won the toss and chose to bowl while batting first Mumbai gave the target of 224 runs. Shardul Thakur came out of the syllabus and smashed 75 runs while Prithvi Shaw and Lalwani made 45 runs and 37 runs.

Although the target was not great, Vidarbha still failed miserably and made only 105 runs. Yash Rathod and Taide made 27 runs and 23 runs. From Mumbai's team - Dhawal Kulkarni, Shams Mulani & Tanush Kotian each fetched an incredible 3 wickets, and Vidarbha bleed.

MUM vs VID: 2nd Inning -

In the 2nd inning, Mumbai was leading by 119 runs, the starting duo failed to make an impact and got dismissed for 11 runs & 18 runs (Prithvi Shaw & Lalwani). After a setback, Musheer Khan stabilized the situation and played an incredible knock of 136 runs in 326 balls in front of his idol & 'God of Cricket' - Sachin Tendulkar. This was an exclusive feat from Musheer to his team which paved the way for victory of the Mumbai.

Besides Musheer, Skipper Ajinkya Rahane and DC Skipper Shreyas Iyer played a phenomenal innings of 73 runs and 95 runs and Shams Molani also scored a half-century. In all, the total contribution of each player grabbed a total of 418 runs which was an almost impossible score to defeat.

Monumental target posed by Mumbai -

The pressure was high on the Vidarbhan's as the tally was huge, this led to the fall of wickets on a regular intervals and players couldn't settle and set stable ground for the upcoming players.

Karun Nayyair managed to handle the situation and made 74 runs in 220 balls, and for his help, skipper & wicket-keeper Akshay Wadkar satisfied his role as of a captain and smashed 102 runs in 199 balls before falling in the trap of Tanush Kotian.

Tanush Kotian did a commendable job throughout the series and in the finals, he fetched 7 wickets (3 wickets - 1st inning & 4 wickets - 2nd innings) and has also made 21 runs. Tanush Kotian was the most successful bowler for Mumbai in Vidarbha's second innings, finishing with 4/95.
