Sairaj Bahutule Set To Join Rajasthan Royals For IPL 2025

Sairaj Bahutule is all set to join the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This will be the second stint for Bahutule who had previously worked with the franchise back in 2018-21 before he was appointed at the NCA which is now called the Centre of Excellence. Bahutule will link with the squad in the capacity of a spin bowling coach.

At RR, he will work with former Kiwi pacer Shane Bond who is the bowling coach of the franchise, Bahutule will also reunite with Head Coach Rahul Dravid. Bahutule had worked with Rahul Dravid when he was with the Indian team.

Bahutule's statement To Cricbuzz

"The discussions are still going on, but, I can confirm my involvement with the Royals setup ahead of the upcoming season, I'm very excited to work under Rahul Dravid once again, I had worked with him as a spin bowling coach for the Indian team during the BGT in 2023, & then with the new coaching staff on the tour to Sri Lanka last year, I'm very excited for this reunion." Bahutule quipped

Among other things, Bahutule (52), who has featured in two Tests and five ODIs, will work with the Royals bowlers throughout the year. Among those who are in the Royals squad are Jofra Archer, the current England pace attack leader, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, Akash Madhwal and Fazalhaq Farooqi. On the spin bowling front, he has Sri Lankan spin twins Maheesh Theekshana & Wanindu Hasaranga, while Kumar Kartikeya is the Indian spin bowling option.
