Sanju Samson has obtained the full clearance from the Centre of Excellence (COE) of BCCI. With this approval, Sanju will now be able to keep wickets along with wielding the willow. This also ensures that Sanju will be playing in the playing 11, thus also reclaiming the leadership duties for the remainder of the IPL season.

As reports emerged that Sanju had flown from Guwahati to Bengaluru to obtain the fitness clearance for wicket-keeping. The Kerala batter had an operation on his right index finger that ensured that he was purely used as a batter by the Royals for the first three matches.

Skipper Sanju Is Back!

Considering that Sanju was partially fit, the Royals handed over the leadership duties to Riyan Parag for the first three matches while Dhruv Jurel looked after the wicket-keeping duties in Sanju's absence. Now with Samson fully fit, he is set to lead the side & take the wicket-keeping duties as well.

Sanju flew from Guwahati to Bengaluru after the team's 6-run win over CSK. He will join the Royals squad at Chandigarh in RR's match against the Punjab Kings.

The Royals have just managed to win the match in their opening three games & are currently languishing at the ninth spot in the points table. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit at the top spot with two wins in as many games.
