After numerous difficulties, he finally got a chance to prove his worth and in reply to this, he fulfilled his role as a debutant. Unfortunately, he fell into the trap of England and got run out as he blindly trusted his senior partner Jadeja which in turn didn't produce fruitful results for him.

On 99, Ravindra Jadeja hits a straight-to-mid-on and calls Sarfaraz Khan. Khan responds right away, but the senior partner refuses to run. The joy turned into sadness when he got run out. At the run-out, Rohit Sharma threw his cap in displeasure and did not appear to be cheering the hundred. Although Jadeja was also not very happy and could be seen barely celebrating his ton.
