Shami Is Back!

Star India seam bowler Mohammed Shami is finally all set to make a comeback on the cricketing field. The State Cricket Association of Bengal has stated that Shami will be featuring for Bengal in their next-round game against Madhya Pradesh.

Shami last featured for India in the infamous ODI World Cup Final where the Men In Blue went down to Australia by 6 wickets. Shami played the entire World Cup with a pain in his right heel. Post the World Cup Shami had gone for treatment on his Achilles heel injury on the right foot.

Shami though, got a setback in his recovery stint as he had swelling in his right knee which further delayed his comeback for the Indian team. The India pacer was practicing in the NCA on the sidelines of the first test match between India & New Zealand in Bengaluru.

The return to competitive cricket now will be a major boost for India as they have embarked on a five-test tour of Australia starting on November 22.

Last month, skipper Rohit Sharma said that they were hoping to have Shami fit for some part of the tour. Although Shami has not been named in the Test squad that has already been announced, he could still make it if fitness issues are not a worry.
