The iconic Indian opener, Virender Sehwag, has managed to eerily predict the official roster of India for the T20 World Cup 2024 before the competition kicks off. But this time around, in a rather unexpected step, skipper Rohit Sharma has cut white-ball vice-captain as well as all-rounder Hardik Pandya out of that list.
Virender Sehwag finalizes the Indian squad for the year 2024 around the same timeline. The fact that Sehwag did not mention any particular batting order but included Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal suggests that these two are likely to appear at the top of the Indian starting order choosing from among these options.
However, the majority of his team was on the predicted lines, and there were a few others who ended up in an unexpected position. Notably, he left out Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson from his team. Through Club Prairie podcast with Adam Gilchrist, Dhoni had to either pick Shivam Dube or Rinku Singh as the middle order hitter.
The man was suave suave, as he explained why he had left Hardik Pandya out of his playing squad. He, however, may be named in the 15-member Indian squad that will be named towards the end of April. Consistently, Pandya has failed to justify the faith in him after he made a controversial move to join MI in the Indian Premier League.
Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube/Rinku Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Sandeep Sharma.
