Vaibhav Sooryanvanshi's jaw-dropping knock of 101 off just 38 balls not only took the Gujarat Titans by surprise but also an entire nation. He created history by becoming the second-fastest batter to score a century in the IPL.
The left-handed southpaw from Bihar also became the youngest batter to score a century in T20 cricket, surpassing another left-handed batter, Vijay Zol, who had achieved this record way back in 2013 at the age of 18 years.
Vaibhav started aggressively with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal to set the tone in order to chase down a big target of 210 runs posted by the Gujarat Titans in the first innings.
Vaibhav reached the half-century mark in just 17 deliveries, he required just 18 more deliveries to what was a batting masterclass from the 14-year-old to slam his maiden IPL ton & register his name in the history books.

Vaibhav's scintillating knock also helped the Royals to break their losing streak that had extended to 5 losses on the bounce. With this win, the Royals still keep themselves in the hunt to qualify for the playoffs, but by the barest of margins.
Earlier in the day, fifties from skipper Shubman Gill & Jos Buttler helped the Gujarat Titans to reach the 210-mark in the first innings.
