Gaddafi Stadium formerly called Lahore Stadium is a cricket stadium in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, owned by the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board). It has a seating capacity of 27,000 which makes it the fourth largest cricket stadium in Pakistan. It is the home stadium of Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League. Gaddafi Stadium was the first cricket stadium in Pakistan that was fitted with the latest floodlights having their standby power generators.
It was built by a Russian-born Pakistani architect, and civil engineer and contracted by Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company in 1959. The upgrade for the 1996 Cricket World Cup was done on the stadium when it hosted the final. Furthermore, from hosting Pakistan home games and international matches, the Gaddafi Stadium has also hosted some PSL matches with the first one being the final of the 2017 edition.

The stadium was constructed in 1959 and was designed by the architect and civil engineer Nasreddin Murat-Khan and the construction was completed by the Mian Abdul Khaliq and Company. It was known as the Lahore Stadium at first. On 19 March 1972, the stadium was changed its name in honor of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi by the then president of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto while addressing a public meeting in Lahore. on 23 October 2011, it was proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board to change the name of the stadium. The new name was given to support the new government in Libya, after the death of Gaddafi.
In 1996 Nayyar Ali Dada an architect, who graduated from the National College of Arts, renovated the Gaddafi Stadium for the 1996 Cricket World Cup.
In both 1968 and 1977, riots interrupted Test matches against England. The first hat-trick was taken on October 9 1976 when Peter Petherick of New Zealand bowled Pakistan out at the stadium. The second was Wasim Akram of Pakistan against Sri Lanka on 6 March 1999, the third was Mohammad Sami of Pakistan against Sri Lanka.
Pakistan has had some brilliant moments on the ground particularly when they defeated New Zealand. Such moments include a fifth-wicket stand of 281 between Javed Miandad and Asif Iqbal in 1976 and an innings and 324-run win against New Zealand in 2002.
On March 5, 2017, the final of the 2017 Pakistan Super League took place in the stadium; it was the first PSL match to be hosted in Pakistan. Following the success of playing the final, the Pakistan Cricket Board decided that two of the matches of the 2018 Pakistan Super League would be held within the country. In September 2019, the Pakistan Cricket Board picked it as one of the venues to conduct matches in the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
