In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will get a new name and uniform, but everything else will remain the same. The team has failed to turn things around in the current season; after three losses in four games, they find themselves in a precarious position at eighth place in the standings. Ambati Rayudu analyzed the reasons behind RCB's poor performance throughout the years and highlighted the latest setback to the Lucknow Super Giants at Chinnaswamy. He claims that Bengaluru's batting lineup has underperformed overall because they haven't delivered when it matters most.
Many great batsmen have worn the RCB uniform since the first IPL, including Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, and Jaque Kallis. Several well-known players, like as Glen Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, and Virat Kohli, are also on the current team. Still, the club hasn't produced its greatest work in recent memory, and this season is no exception. Rayudu stated on Star Sports that the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have never had a seasoned batter down the order who could perform well under stress. He alluded to the present lineup, saying that by the time the big names return to the hut, a group of young players, including Dinesh Karthik, are performing under stress.
“I feel their bowling always gives over-par runs and batting performs under par. No big-name batter is seen playing for RCB when they are under pressure. Such teams never win. This is why they have never won the IPL in many years,”
~Rayudu said.
“All young players keep playing down the order and the big-name players go at the top and leave after eating the cake over the cream. If you see, who were the batters batting under pressure – your young Indian batters and Dinesh Karthik.'
