Asha Shobhana & Pooja Vastrakar Ruled Out Of WPL 2025

ASHA SHOBHANA & POOJA VASTRAKAR RULED OUT

Both players failed to recover in time from their respective injuries

The RCB franchise has been dealt with another blow before the start of WPL 2025 with ace legspinner Asha Sobhana ruled out of the season as she failed to recover from injury in time. RCB has called in wicketkeeper-batter Nuzhat Parween as a replacement at the base price of INR 30 lakh.

Asha last played for India at the T20 World Cup in UAE, she sustained a knee injury in the last round-robin fixture against Australia. She was replaced in that game after taking the opposite captain's approval.

RCB is already missing half of their foreign contingent as Sophie Molineux who was the joint-highest wicket-taker alongside Asha Shobhana. Molineux also pulled out of after sustaining a knee injury women's ashes. Kate Cross although uncapped at RCB, has also pulled as she looks to focus on rehab & recovery ahead of busy international cricket schedule. Meanwhile, New Zealand captain Sophie Devine a mainstay in the RCB batting order has taken a break from Domestic cricket.

Shreyanka Patil, the Emerging Player of the previous season and Purple Cap holder, is also doubtful after a prolonged rehab at the NCA. Both Asha & Shreyanka last played for India in the Women's T20 World Cup. Both the players have missed a lot of cricket for team India both home & away.

RCB begin their campaign against hosts Gujarat Giants in Vadodara on the opening night, February 14.

MI replace Pooja Vastrakar with Parunika Sisodia

Meanwhile, allrounder Pooja Vastrakar continues to remain on the sidelines and will not be available to play this season for Mumbai Indians. she hasn't donned the blue jersey of India since the end of Women's T20 World Cup.

The inaugural WPL champions have called up Parunika Sisodia as the replacement for the upcoming season. Parunika was previously associated with the Gujarat Giants squad she was named as the player of the match in the Semi-Finals in the recently concluded Women's U-19 T20 World Cup.
