Babar Azam, the legendary batsman of Pakistan, has broken yet another record by being the fastest player to reach 10,000 T20 runs.

Against the Karachi Kings in Match 6 of the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Peshawar Zalmi hitter scored his 6th run to attain the milestone. He also became the first batter to reach 3,000 PSL runs in the history.
Babar completed this achievement in 271 innings of 281 matches as per ESPN & Cricinfo. He surpassed Chris Gayle, a former West Indies opener who needed 285 innings to attain the milestone.
In the format, Babar has a strike rate of 128 and an average of above 43. 10 tons and 83 fifties are included in the total, with 122 being his best score.
Babar has joined all-rounder Shoaib Malik (13,106) as the only other Pakistani player to reach 10,000 T20 runs. In all, the former batsman became the 13th to reach the record.
ESPNcricinfo reports that Babar leads all batters with at least 1,000 T20 runs in an average of 43 or more. Babar is only second to Gayle (22) in terms of T20 tons. Babar has made 10 T20 hundreds and is just behind Chris Gayle who has made 22.

Babar Azam is the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi and made a half-century in the opening of the 2024 season, Babar Azam, a former captain of Pakistan, became the first player in history to reach 3,000 runs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). It was his 29th half-century in the competition. Babar needed 65 runs to reach the 3,000-run milestone, which he accomplished while attempting to assist Zalmi in chasing a massive 207-run target against the Quetta Gladiators. Although the opener Saim Ayub scored a quick 42 runs, Babar finished with 68 off 42, but it was insufficient for the Zalmi to prevail as they lost by 16 runs.
Babar was in service to Karachi Kings from 2017 to 2022. Babar remains the franchise's top run scorer with 2,398 runs at 43.6 in 66 games. 23 fifty are included in the total.
The only other batter for the team with 1,000 or more runs scored is Imad Wasim (1,086). Babar made just 15 runs in two matches for Islamabad United during the 2016 campaign.
