Veteran pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar admitted that he was not thinking about the result when he was asked to bowl the final over of the innings against Rajasthan Royals defending 12 runs in the last over, the Orange Army went on to defend their fort via a thrilling One-run win.
"I told everyone process is very important," . "I was literally thoughtless, I was not thinking about the result. I was just trying to do what I can do."
With 12 runs to defend, also not to forget they were penalized due to a slow over-rate and a set Rovman Powell the task was cut out for Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Coming to the last ball it was a low full toss from Bhuvneshwar Kumar which trapped Rovman Powell bang in front of the sticks to be given out LBW.
"I knew if I could bowl just two good balls, and if it went to the last ball, anything could happen," he said. "It was a full toss, I know, but he missed it. "I was not thinking about the one extra fielder up, or whatever the restriction was there, I was so detached from the result. I wasn't thinking about where the fielder is, where he is going to hit, where I'm gonna bowl, I was so focused on the process, that was the only thing I was doing."
Earlier in the game Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of both Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson for the Ducks reducing RR to 1-2 at one point, post that mini-collapse Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag stitched a crucial 134-run Partnership scoring their respective half centuries
"I can't really pinpoint where the ball swung last, but the way it swung I literally enjoyed it. When it swings, you are always on top of the game, you try to take wickets and luckily, I got wickets."
"Bhuvi just nailed six yorkers pretty much," said captain Pat Cummins, who also bowled an incredible seven-run penultimate over. "It is T20 cricket, we get used to batters getting them over the line but when you get to that last over, you do feel like anything can happen."
Sunrisers Hyderabad will travel to Mumbai now to play against the 9th-ranked Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, whereas the Royals from Rajasthan will travel to the Capital city to play against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
