Just one day into his role, the recently appointed Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya assessed India's readiness for the next Olympics in a meeting with IOA President PT Usha, who seemed confident about the country's delegation of over 100 athletes in Paris. On Tuesday, Mandaviya succeeded Anurag Thakur as head of the sports ministry.

On Thursday, she met with Usha and other high-ranking officials of the Indian Olympic Association in the IOA Bhawan in this city. July 26 marks the start of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In addition to the newly appointed Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse, Sports Secretary Sujata Chaturvedi, and Director General Sandip Pradhan of the Sports Authority of India, Mandaviya was informed on the nation's preparations for the Paris Games during the meeting, which lasted more than an hour.

Mandaviya stated:

"I met the IOA officials today for the first time, and they gave me an update on India's Olympic preparations in Paris. In a brief statement to the media, Mandaviya stated, "The government is committed to extending all possible support."

"I am thrilled that the Minister of State for Sports and the Sports Minister came to our IOA today to learn more about the Paris preparations and IOA. I've given him a thorough rundown of everything we did this time. I think this will benefit our Olympic athletes, and we will be in touch once a week," she stated.

"We have catered to athletes in every way possible. We acted this time according to the athletes' wishes, as they were our primary priority. Therefore, compared to Tokyo, we anticipate winning more medals this time. I don't want to impose any numbers on the players and make them nervous.

"Already 97 athletes have qualified, and we are expecting around 115 to 120 athletes to represent India in Paris Olympics," said the great athlete.
