While the Indian cricket team's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign begins on June 5 against Ireland, all eyes are focused on the June 9 match versus Pakistan. The ICC and ACC competitions are the only times that spectators may watch the two teams play each other; bilateral series are not played between them.
With the build-up to the June 09 match, veteran India bowler S Sreesanth has asked Jasprit Bumrah, the team's star pacer, to "finish" Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.
"It will be interesting to observe who is placing the fresh ball. We have already witnessed their vulnerability if Arshdeep bowls the first over that caused him difficulty. They will dismiss a number of bowlers when they attack if they don't stop the runs. I believe that the Pakistan-India match would be really difficult if we don't take wickets during the powerplay. I believe India has to take a wicket in the opening over on June 9,".
"Bumrah should go first and bowl the opening over, in my opinion. Although the winner of the new ball has already been announced, he said, "I believe that if you are watching Bumrah, please finish Rizwan and Babar first."
The cricket community had high expectations for India's fast bowling assault, but it falls short of those expectations. Apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh do not enter the T20 World Cup with a lot of momentum.
Siraj and Arshdeep performed poorly in the IPL 2024 season with their respective teams, and it is still unclear if they would be able to support Bumrah in the T20 World Cup.
