Hosts Pakistan will start the tournament on February 19th against New Zealand at Karachi. Team India's matches and one semi-final have been moved to Dubai. The big-ticket clash between India and Pakistan is set to be played in Dubai on February 23.
Bangladesh is the fourth team in Group A, alongside India, New Zealand, and holders Pakistan. Group B has Afghanistan, South Africa, Australia, and England. The first clash of Group B will see Afghanistan take on inaugural winners South Africa on February 21 in Karachi. The marquee fixture between Australia and England will be played on February 22 in Lahore.
The Champions Trophy, returning to the calendar after eight years, faced many challenges after BCCI refused to send their team to Pakistan. Things only got better on December 19 when the PCB agreed on a neutral venue process. The process is set to continue for three years for the India-Pakistan matches and for the tournaments that will be held in India and Pakistan. The PCB chose UAE over Sri Lanka as the neutral venue.
