The search is on for the next head coach of the Indian cricket team, and a number of names have surfaced as contenders for the highly sought-after role. After the next T20 World Cup in 2024, head coach Rahul Dravid's term comes to an end, and according to media sources, the BCCI has already made contact with a few candidates for the position.
Currently, Ashish Nehra and Gautam Gambhir are the names that are most favoured; international coaches are apparently less interested in these players. Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, sent an interesting comment on social media in the midst of the debate about the role.
A person's future is shaped by their coach's influence on their life, direction, and unwavering training both on and off the field. So make informed decisions about the coach and the school," he wrote on twitter.
"The BCCI brass would not mind delaying their decision for a little while longer, but the deadline is fine. The team will now spend the most of June playing in the World T20. Following that, seniors will take a break from their tours of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, during which time any senior coach stationed at NCA can join the squad. Therefore, what's the rush?" an anonymous BCCI insider told PTI.
The coach's significance in one's life, their guidance, and relentless training shape the future of any person, both on and off the field. So choose the coach and institution wisely…

The BCCI is reportedly not in a rush to choose Dravid's replacement, despite the fact that applications were accepted until May 27. The players on the Indian cricket team are presently concentrated on the T20 World Cup 2024, but if a decision is not made, it is likely that National Cricket Academy (NCA) trainers will go with the squad on certain upcoming trips.
