After an outstanding season, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season has ended, and Kolkata Knight Riders are the victors. Shreyas Iyer-led team won the final IPL 2024 Match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
KKR played SRH in the summit battle, and the outcome was the same thanks to a half-century from Venkatesh Iyer and disciplined bowling from their fast bowlers, who helped them win their third IPL crown. Consequently, they were awarded prize money of Rs 20 crore, while for 2nd position Rs 13 crore was given to SRH.
In terms of prize money, the SA20 competition, situated in South Africa, is the closest to the IPL. After winning the championship in 2024, Sunrisers Eastern Cape took home a reward of 34 million Rand (around Rs 15.4 crore).
Next up is the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), with a prize pool of USD $1 million (about Rs. 8.3 crore) for the victor in 2023. Trinbago Knight Riders finished in second place and Guyana Amazon Warriors in first place for the season.
Dubai Capitals came in second place in the 2024 ILT20 (International League T20), while MI Emirates were victorious. As prize money, MI Emirates was given USD 700,00 (around Rs 5.8 Crore).
The PSL 2024 winners received a payout of Rs 4.13 crore, while the runners-up received Rs 1.65 crore. In the top match, Multan Sultans were beaten by Islamabad United.
Moving on, the prize money for the Big Bash League (BBL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is significantly less than that of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently, Brisbane Heat will get USD 450,000 (about Rs 3.7 crore) in prize money from the BBL in 2024.
