After the Chennai Super Kings were eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024, there was a great deal of conjecture on MS Dhoni's future in the league. The five-time winners' hopes of making the playoffs were dashed as they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With Ruturaj Gaikwad as captain, Dhoni mostly functioned as a lower-order finisher during CSK's turbulent season. Although there was no formal word on Dhoni's future, videos of the former captain of India riding a bike through Ranchi have surfaced on social media.
Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni were present. They were saved by Dhoni. Perhaps Dhoni's departure was imminent. This season, he nailed the longest six at 110 meters. He also made two leg-side fours. In a video that he posted on his YouTube account, Chopra stated that if MS Dhoni hadn't been out to the back-of-the-hand ball, he would have won the match and sent CSK to the playoffs.

"Winning the game didn't seem feasible from where he started. Not winning you understand that I am referring to 201 winning the match was out of their reach. Every over, Jadeja would knock a six with the first ball. In the final over, though, Yash Dayal bowled rather effectively. It took just 17 runs to complete the task. He prevented them from losing, and RCB advanced by winning by a respectable margin ".
