Emotional Downpour From CSK Teammates on Dhoni’s Captaincy Dissolution

After surprising his players and support staff over breakfast on Thursday morning, MS Dhoni, in true form, revealed the news to the Chennai Super Kings management. Following the meeting Dhoni is rumored to have called the team management to announce his decision to give the leadership to Ruturaj Gaikwad, a player Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of CSK, stated had been trained for the position for the last two years.

CSK Captaincy Fiasco Last Season:

Despite the sudden nature of the move, the team appears to be in a far better position to manage the change than it was in 2022, when Ravindra Jadeja assumed leadership before resigning halfway through the IPL. Although Dhoni's choice appeared to surprise the team at the moment, head coach Stephen Fleming stated that they were in a much better position this time.

Fleming’s thought:

“Well, the big thing about a couple of years ago was that we probably weren’t ready for MS to move aside. What that did was probably shake us up as a leadership group and make the coaches look at the possibility when he does go. Up until that stage, it was almost unthinkable, but it sowed the seed. So, we’ve worked pretty hard on making sure that any mistakes that were made then aren’t made again,”
Fleming said.

Every Indian will for sure miss the captainship of Dhoni and many fans had eyed Dhoni as they were eagerly waiting for the last captainship of Dhoni. The zeal was another level, but the piece of news broke the hearts of millions of cricket fans and some also broke into tears.

CSK will surely miss his leadership but they didn't also have any alternative as Dhoni will retire after this season and someone has to take the responsbility.
