Openers of IPL 2024 Flop XI

1. Ishan Kishan-

The Mumbai Keeper-Batter had a torrid time while playing in this season's IPL scoring just 320 runs with a poor strike rate of 148.84 and an average of 22.86 considering Kishan is a hard-hitting opener these stats aren't to be proud of.

2. Ajinkya Rahane-

Ajinkya Rahane had a season to forget his worst performance in recent years, in this season he was tried at numerous positions sometimes at number 3 or as an opener in odd games he came late down the order too but unfortunately couldn't find his mojo this season in 13 games Rahane didn't even get close to the tally of 250 runs.

3. Glenn Maxwell -

It comes as a surprise to many, a guy who was at the top of the world last year with runs in T20 cricket winning an ODI World Cup away from home and even entering into IPL on the backdrop of smashing centuries against the West Indies in the T20I series at home, who knew Maxwell will have to struggle for runs (52 runs in 9 games) this season. So much so that went on a mental break and dropped himself from the side before being recalled after Will Jacks left for national duty. To say the list this season has been nothing short of a horror movie for Glenn Maxwell.

4. Rinku Singh-

Once touted to be a sure shot starter in the squad for the T20 World Cup, to now being demoted to the reserves it has been a torrid season for Rinku Singh due to multiple reasons for loss of form as well as the top order did bulk of the scoring whole season that Rinku didn't get much time to spend in the middle. scoring just 168 runs in 11 innings.

5. Jitesh Sharma-

Jitesh Sharma before the start of the season was probably the second designated wicket-keeper batter for the World Cup, What followed after that for Jitesh was no less than a bad dream for Jitesh, scoring just 187 runs in 14 games.

7. MS Dhoni (Wk)-

It will come as a surprise to many but MS Dhoni makes the list of flop 11 of the IPL this year, the keeper batter made headlines after he recovered from a knee injury. But midway through the tournament, there was a tear in his leg muscle which not only impacted his movements but to some extent the Chennai batting order as well, the keeper batter from Ranchi came as late as number 8 even below Mitchell Santner. Dhoni scored 161 runs in 11 innings.

Bowlers of IPL 2024 Flop XI

8. Shardul Thakur-

Shardul Thakur didn't start the season directly he got a game in the middle part of the tournament in a season where every bowler was going for runs Shardul wasn't different either, he played 9 games claiming just wickets and conceded runs at a higher economy which didn't help CSK's chances.

9. Anrich Nortje-

This IPL season was not less than a nightmare for the bowlers, but it became even worse for the Delhi Capitals pacer conceding 294 runs in 6 games and picking just 7 scalps, Nortje this season conceded more than 20 runs three times this season twice in the last over and once in the 17th over.

10. Ravi Bishnoi-

Before the start of the season he was touted to be the lead spinner for the 2024 T20 World Cup, but as the season began Bishnoi's form dipped to never return he conceded runs on a slightly big Lucknow Ground and even one of the best fielders in terms of spinners Bishnoi had a tough time in the fielding fluffing easy chances he conceded 383 runs picking only 10 wickets with an economy of 8.77.

11. Deepak Chahar-

Deepak Chahar isn't the same bowler he used to be some time ago this season too was no different, often termed a good swing bowler upfront this year he couldn't generate that swing he leaked runs heavily, Chahar could only play 8 games he got injured midway during a home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chahar picked just 5 wickets this season.
