On Thursday, March 14th, former Sri Lanka great Lahiru Thirimanne was involved in a terrifying vehicle accident that left him with minor injuries. The event occurred in the Thirapanne region of Anuradhapura when Thirimanne's vehicle collided with a lorry, causing substantial damage.
Lahiru Thirimanne, a former Sri Lankan cricketer, was hospitalized after the accident. The police claimed that the event took place in Thrippane, Anuradhapura. Thirimanne has been admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital with minor injuries from the crash.

The collision occurred about 7:45 A.M. on the 14th and included Thirimanne's car and a lorry approaching from the opposite way. Ada Derana also said that three other people in the vehicle, the truck driver, and another person were hurt and hospitalized.
Fortunately, the former cricketer sustained just minor injuries, which provided great relief to his family and friends. After retiring from cricket in 2023, the 34-year-old has been out of the spotlight for quite some time.
Thirimanne participated in 44 Test matches, 127 ODIs, and 26 T20Is after making his debut on the international scene in 2010. He participated in two ODI World Cups and three T20 World Cup campaigns, including Sri Lanka's victory in 2014. In five one-day matches, he also captained Sri Lanka. He made his final appearance abroad in March 2022. In July 2023, he announced his retirement from international cricket, capping a 13-year career.
