BCCI yesterday announced the central contracts of the players that they retained in their list

The BCCI allocates salaries to Indian cricket players (male and female) by their performance, which is reflected in the points they earn in the BCCI's grading system.

For men's and women's cricket players, the BCCI has so far announced four and three grading schemes, respectively.

Indian cricket players make money in a variety of ways, including sponsorship, advertising, brand ambassadorship, participation in other cricket leagues like the IPL, brand ownership, and more.

Qualification for BCCI’s annual central contacts:

  • A+ category – All three formats player
  • A category – All three formats, at least 2 formats, Test cricket necessary
  • B category – Two formats
  • C category – Single format player

BCCI’s Grading System for Men’s

BCCI pays for both International and domestic cricket teams for both men and women categories.

BCCI’s Grading System for Women’s

In 2022, the BCCI raised the match price for domestic women's cricket players. On match days, senior ladies (playing XI) will now receive INR 20,000 instead of INR 12,500.

Men’s Cricketer’s Salary

The Senior Men's Annual Player Contracts for Team India were released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday. The contracts cover the period from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

In this round of suggestions, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were not considered for the annual contracts. The players would get paid in addition to the BCCI yearly wage for participating in each Test, ODI, and T20I match.

For a Test match, an Indian player is entitled to a fixed match fee of Rs 15 lakh. A player receives Rs 6 lakh for an ODI and Rs 3 lakh for each T20I. 50% of the match fee is awarded to those who do not make the starting lineup.


Grade A+ Players -

Players named under this list will receive a salary of INR 7 Crores annually. Following are the list of players who are listed under this grade:

Indian Women Cricketer’s Salary

The Senior Women's Annual Player Contracts for Team India were released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for the 2022–2023 season.

The match price for women's cricket will be the same as that of men's cricket for all three formats. The following fee will be paid to women cricketers every match in all forms, as per the rule:

  • Tests – 15 Lakhs(per match)
  • ODIs – 6 Lakhs(per match)

T20Is – 3 Lakhs(per match)

Additional perks for Indian Cricketers -

In addition to their salaries, Indian cricket players are also rewarded for their performances in each of the three format matches. Their match fee does not include this award money.

  • Rs 500,000 for scoring a hundred in a test or ODI
  • Rs 700,000 for a double hundred in the test
  • Rs 500,000 for 5 wicket haul in Test, ODI, or T20
  • Rs 700,000 for a 10-wicket haul in test matches
