The Lahore Qalandars have dealt a significant setback after experienced pacer Haris Rauf was ruled out for the rest of the PSL 2024 due to a shoulder dislocation. The 30-year-old sustained an injury while making a diving catch to dismiss Hasan Ali in Qalandars' previous game against arch-rival Karachi Kings. Rauf's immediate reaction after completing the catch was to throw the ball away, leaving it unclear whether he had taken the catch cleanly or not.
Replays confirmed that the fast bowler dove for the catch before his shoulder collided with the ground, forcing him to throw the ball away. Qalandars' medical personnel immediately removed Rauf from the field, and he was observed walking with a sling attached to his shoulder. According to the latest sources, Rauf will be gone for four to six weeks.
After an expensive start to the season, Rauf began to perform well in the last two games, particularly against Karachi, where he was the Qalandars' finest bowler. The bowler will now hope to achieve full health before Pakistan tours England in May when they will play four T20Is before of the T20 World Cup.
Haris has been a crucial asset to the team's bowling attack, and his absence will be felt," Sameen Rana, Qalandars COO told PCB. "It's not a major injury or any broken bone, but considering him as a valuable asset for Pakistan, we didn't want to risk his national prospects. Lahore Qalandars remain determined and focused on delivering strong performances in the remaining PSL matches.
