Harleen Deol of the Gujarat Giants will miss the remainder of the present WPL 2024 due to a knee injury, according to Cricbuzz. Vidarbha batter Bharti Fulmali has been called in as a replacement player and was seen warming up with the team before of the Delhi team's first game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday (March 6) in Arun Jaitley ground.

Harleen, a crucial player for Giants -

In the first over of UP Warriorz's chase against the Giants in Bengaluru - their third league game - Deol hurt her already heavily injured left knee while fielding. She was immediately called off the field. Since then, the batting-all-rounder has not played again. Deol was seen in Delhi, even though he wasn't wearing the Giants uniform, watching their match against RCB.

Rana is now fit for the match -

Gujarat Giants were also concerned about the match fitness of the vice-captain Sneh Rana, who has now missed two consecutive games due to an unidentified issue. According to Cricbuzz, Rana has recovered well and will be fit for selection in the Giants' next match against last year's defending champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday (March 9).

Series of injuries -

Sayali & Tahuhu

The Giants, who finally made it onto the points table with a 19-run victory over RCB, have had their fair share of injuries this season. A few huge pre-tournament injury setbacks slowed their speedsters, the most significant being their INR 2 crore acquisition of uncapped fast-bowling phenom Kashvee Gautam. Lauren Cheatle of Australia recently underwent a surgical operation to remove skin cancer from her neck and had to withdraw from WPL 2024. Giants pulled in a New Zealand pace veteran Lea Tahuhu as a replacement for the Australian player, and Mumbai's Sayali Sathgare was called in to replace Kashvee Gautam in the squad.

First victory of Gujarat Giants -

The Giants had gone on a four-game losing streak to begin the season before a change in venues brought some luck to the Beth Mooney-led team. They set RCB a lofty 200-run target before securing a 19-run victory finally. They are still ranked last in the points table.
