Icelandic Cricket's latest witty tweet throws a playful punch at the ICC

The social media handle Island Cricket is known for its witty views on all things cricket, and this time it has come up with a hilarious reference to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The 2024 T20 World Cup bracket was announced on Friday, with India and Pakistan in the same group.

The long-awaited matchup will be held in New York on June 9th. It is now common for these two teams to be in the same group in international competitions, and given that they do not play mutual series, these matches attract a lot of attention and fanfare.

Iceland Cricket pointed out the very fact that India and Pakistan are usually in the same group in international tournaments.

T20 World Cup 2024 -

India will face Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA in Group A of the league. India will open the World Cup on June 5 against Ireland in New York.

After the match against Pakistan, India will stay in New York to play the co-hosts on June 12 before traveling to Florida to face Canada in the final group stage match on June 15.

It is his biggest T20 World Cup in history, hosted by West Indies and USA, with 20 teams divided into four groups of five teams. Sixteen teams participated in the previous tournament, which was held in Australia in 2022.

The tournament begins June 1st in the United States and Canada. The semi-finals will be held in Guyana on June 26th, Trinidad on June 27th, and the final will be held in Barbados on June 29th.
