The Kolkata Knight Riders won their third championship, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad had to settle for the runners-up spot, making the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 finish on a remarkable note.
In addition to winning INR 20 crore in prize money, KKR also received Rs 12.5 crore from SRH. INR 46.5 crore in total prize money was set aside by the Indian Premier League for the event, and it was split among more than only the champions and runners-up.
A respectable sum of prize money was also awarded to Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who placed third and fourth in the points standings, respectively. For placing third, Sanju Samson's squad was awarded Rs 7 crore, while Faf du Plessis' team received INR 6.5 crore.
The Orange Cap went to RCB's talisman Virat Kohli, while Punjab Kings pacer Harshal Patel was awarded the Purple Cap. For their achievements this season, everyone received a reward money of Rs 10 lakh.
In 15 games, Kohli amassed 741 runs at an average of 61.75, including five fifty-scores and a century. With a strike rate of 154.69, which was the highest for Kohli in an IPL season, he achieved his top score of 113*.
