Chants for Sharma reverberated around the arena before the game began. The social media footage shows onlookers yelling "Mumbai's king Rohit Sharma." Furthermore, as Rohit Sharma onto the field for his last pregame warm-ups, the fans roared with delight. It's notable that prior to IPL 2024, MI's captain was replaced by Hardik Pandya as their new captain after acquiring the gifted all-round player from Gujarat Titans (GT) in an all-cash transaction.

Mumbai Indians won five IPL championships under Rohit Sharma's leadership, making his time as captain a great success. In the season's first game, the team lost to Gujarat, although Sharma showed great form at the bat, hitting 43 runs off just 29 balls.

Rohit Sharma Gifted a souvenir for his 200th game with Mumbai Indians (MI):

In the present MI vs. SRH game, Rohit Sharma celebrated his 200th appearance for Mumbai in the IPL. The team gifted the seasoned player a unique jersey as a sign of respect. Rohit Sharma received a special team jersey from the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, which had the number 200 written on the back.

Rohit Sharma played for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in the first three IPL seasons. Mumbai Indians purchased him for ₹9.20 crore at the 2011 mega-auction, and he has been an integral part of the squad ever since. In 2013, after Ricky Ponting gave him leadership responsibilities hence, Sharma became captain. Rohit Sharma now holds the record for the most runs scored by a MI player in the IPL with 5084.
