IPL 2024: Tanush Kotian, Winner of the Ranji Trophy, Replaces Adam Zampa for RR

Adam Zampa pulled out of IPL 2024 due to personal reasons, reports says that he will be back after some time

Tanush Kotian, the Ranji Trophy winner from Mumbai, will take Adam Zampa's spot on Friday, March 22, according to the Rajasthan Royals. One of Australia's best players during their winning ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, Zampa had made the abrupt decision to withdraw from the next IPL 2024 season.

On Thursday, March 21, Zampa announced his withdrawal from the new IPL season, citing personal reasons. During Mumbai's Ranji Trophy 2023–24 campaign, Kotian was a standout player for the 42-time champions, excelling both at bat and with the ball. Before their IPL 2024 opening, Kotian will join the team for his base salary of 20 lakh rupees.

Additionally, word has leaked out that B R Sharath has joined the Gujarat Titans in place of the ailing Robin Minz.

Gujarat Titans (GT) added B R Sharath to their squad as replacement for the injured Robin Minz while Tanush Kotian joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in place of Adam Zampa for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
B R Sharath – a wicketkeeper-batter – represents Karnataka in Domestic Cricket. He has so far played 28 T20s, in addition to 20 First-Class matches and 43 List-A games, and has 328 T20 runs against his name. He will join GT for his base price of INR 20 Lac.
"Tanush Kotian, who recently made solid all-round contributions as Mumbai won the 42nd Ranji Trophy title, joins RR for his base price of INR 20 Lac. He has represented Mumbai in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List A matches," read the statement from IPL.

In first-class cricket, Kotian has been a rising star for Mumbai. In the just ended Ranji Trophy season, Kotian took 29 wickets at an average of 16.96 from 10 matches. Additionally, he demonstrated his usefulness as a batsman by amassing 502 runs at an average of over 41 in 10 games.

He had made a crucial century not out against Baroda and an even more crucial eighty-nine against Tamil Nadu in the semi-final.

RR's IPL 2024 campaign against LSG kicks off on March 24.
