The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 advertising featuring MS Dhoni has put an end to the hype around his new "role."
Dhoni posted a message on his official Facebook page on Monday, saying, "Can't wait for the new season and the new 'role'. Stay tuned!"
It was unclear as to exactly what he was referring to, but the post quickly became viral. Before the findings were revealed in Dhoni's most recent Facebook post, fans had to wait a few days.
The 42-year-old Dhoni is shown in the video carrying out two roles, heightening the anticipation for the lucrative Twenty20 competition.
Dhoni uploaded the video of the ad on social media. Tagging Jio Cinema, he wrote, “New season, double role! All the action is brought to you for free with #IPLonJioCinema, starting 22nd March. Kyunki sab yahaan, aur kahaan!”

Dhoni has been an integral member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since the T20 league's inception. Dhoni, who has led CSK to five IPL wins and two Champions League T20 titles, is widely regarded as one of Indian cricket's finest players.
CSK has made it to the playoffs 12 times in 14 seasons of IPL. The Chennai Super Kings are the defending winners, having defeated Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans in a thrilling final last year at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
In terms of batting, Dhoni has passed his test as the finisher. His skills with the keeping gloves, as well as his captaincy, are extremely valuable to the Yellow Army.
On Tuesday, March 5, Dhoni arrived in Chennai for IPL 2024. He is scheduled to appear on the field when the CSK meet the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday, March 22, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
