The Rajasthan Royals, one of the original eight Indian Premier League teams, was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Indian businessman Manoj Badale is the team's owner. Under Shane Warne's leadership, the team won the 2008 Indian Premier League, its first-ever championship. Stronger collaboration and the capacity to develop young players like Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja have been attributes of the Royals. The team has seen many ups and downs over the years, as well as controversy surrounding its former co-owner Raj Kundra's role in the 2013 IPL betting scandal. Nevertheless, Rajasthan Royals have a sizable fan base despite their difficulties.
