In total, the event is expected to run for four hours, eventually culminating with the customary captain's meet. Normally, the event takes place at the venue where the first game of the tournament is to be played. But, this time around the program being staged in Mumbai suggests some major tweaks than the usual appraisal of the rules.
The captains for all 10 franchises have now been confirmed with Axar Patel being announced as the skipper of the Delhi Capitals recently. The other IPL captains are Ruturaj Gaikwad(CSK), Hardik Pandya(MI), Rajat Patidar (RCB), Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Supergiants), Shreyas Iyer (Punjab Kings), Ajinkya Rahane (Kolkata knight Riders), Gujarat Titans (Shubman Gill), Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad) & Sanju Samson for the Rajasthan Royals.
Most of the skippers have joined their respective camps, and even the players who played in the finals of the Champions Trophy on Sunday (9th March) have joined their respective camps. As reported from the SRH camp skipper Pat Cummins arrived in the city on Sunday (March 16th) the Aussie skipper has declared himself available for the entire season despite the World Test Championship Final (WTC) that is set to begin at Lord's on June 11 just weeks after the conclusion of the IPL.
The IPL starts at the Eden in Kolkata on March 22 with champions Kolkata Knight Riders playing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
