When Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 cup earlier this year, the cricketers from Tamil Nadu and India A were put in the firing line in a slanging battle with Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB). After the Bengaluru franchise was eliminated from the IPL 2024, Rayudu was particularly harsh with them.
He carried on with his sarcasm when he said that a team's collective performances, rather than the players wearing the Orange Cap, determine its championship. Although Virat amassed more than 700 runs to claim the title of greatest run scorer of the year, his side was defeated by the Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator.

"The KKR squad deserves my congratulations for contributing to the IPL victory while remaining loyal to Narine, Russell, and Starc. In an interview on Star Sports, Rayudu stated, "It has always been shown over the years that players' contributions, like 300 apiece from many a player, assist win the IPL.
Within the squad, Virat Kohli is a pillar of strength and a legend. His high standards make it difficult for the next generation to not aspire to be like him. Thus, Rayudu emphasized, "Virat has to relax a little bit so that the kids can feel comfortable in the locker room.
"I sincerely apologize to all of the RCB fans who have cheered for the team with fervor throughout the years. If only the team's interests and goals had taken precedence above individual accomplishments, the RCB would have won more trophies. Just keep in mind how many outstanding players have been released. Make your management bring players who will prioritize the needs of the squad. The big auction might be a fantastic place to start a new chapter," Rayudu wrote in a social media post.
