Rumors that the second leg of the forthcoming IPL season may be played overseas have been dispelled by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who has declared that the whole IPL 2024 season will take place in India. Confusion had broken out following a story that claimed, in light of the approaching general elections, that the BCCI was considering other nations to host the second leg of the 2024 Indian Premier League.

Following the Election Commission ruling, further information regarding the second phase of the lucrative tournament may now be released. In the meanwhile, the BCCI has only disclosed the schedule for the first 21 matches of the IPL 2024 season, which runs from March 22 to April 7. The opening game of the IPL 2024 season between the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will take place on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Bengaluru.
