Archer picked up the blow during the Rajasthan Royals' IPL 2025 fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 4. The Englishman was one of the players with Sam Curran & Jamie Overton being the other two players not to return to India after the tournament was suspended for a week. Archer played 12 matches for the Rajasthan Royals, picking 11 wickets.
Archer was named in England's ODI squad for the West Indies series but did not find a place in the T20I side, having featured in the last series in India. ECB stated in a statement that Archer will be reassessed by the England medical team over the next 14 days to determine when he can play again.
The three ODIs will be played on May 29th, June 1st, and June 3rd.
