Afghanistan won a massive game against Uganda beating them by a huge margin of 125 runs. Post-game Head Coach Jonathan Trott admitted that a huge win like this will help this group which is already tight with two more power-packed sides in West Indies and New Zealand.
"I feel in a group like this which is already tight a win like this is massive for us, " Trott said, ''I don't worry too much about the weather its up on the Cricketing gods, I feel we played well as a unit in batting and bowling, Fazal Farooqi did a wonderful job for us he bowled well and helped the team that's pleasing to watch," Trott said

With the conditions expected to aid Afghanistan in this tournament, they are looked at as genuine semifinal contenders. However, Trott pointed out that their current focus is on toppling New Zealand next.
"Yes People have been talking about us, Trott Admitted, "But as we all know in Cricket everything changes instantly, I'm going to say something that is boring and a cliched line but our main focus is to beat New Zealand now, they are a brilliant outfit and will come hard at us so I'm looking for that challenge"
With both their openers firing, Afghanistan were 154/0 at one stage but managed to add only 29 runs from their final 5 overs for the loss of five wickets. Trott admitted that finishing the innings against the older ball remains a concern.
"I feel coming into a tournament like this with the wickets that we have it gets tougher to score with the older ball, as you mentioned we only got 30 odd in the last 5 overs, the position we were in we should've aimed for more, we shuffled our batting order that's a fault from our end as coaches we wanted a left-hand right-hand combo, we'll look at this chinks, there always things to improve in the game"
Meanwhile, the Uganda skipper Brian Masaba revealed that there is a gulf in quality between Afghanistan and the teams they have encountered so far in their journey.
"This is a much higher level than we regularly play, and we need to improve ourselves, Afghanistan are great side they have done very well in the last few years, we as a unit need to perform well and I know we can play better than this, we have a short turn around between this game and the next one, we'll get our minds back on track and plan accordingly"
While ruing the fact that his bowlers gave too many boundaries to the Afghanistan openers, Masaba was pleased with the way they pulled things back at the death.
"There a few things that we had spoken about, we didn't bowl well, we conceded too many boundaries, and when you give so many freebies to a team like Afghanistan you are bound to get punished, he stated, we could've bowled a bit better in the upfront'', Masaba concluded
"In a T20 game like this when a side is 150-odd without loss, things can go in the last five overs pretty quickly, I'm happy that we restricted them to that total it was a bonus for us, and we will continue to improve our gameplay."
