Kieron Pollard Defends Hardik’s Decision on Batting Order in GT vs MI Match

Jasprit Bumrah, one of the top fast bowlers with the new ball, wasn't the first person Hardik bowled with. When Hardik got things going, Irfan Pathan, Kevin Pietersen, and Sunil Gavaskar all offered their criticism. Despite the fact that Bumrah claimed a wicket in the lone over he bowled during the powerplay, Pollard declined to give the critics any weight.

“It is the duty of the captain to do what he thinks is right for the team. He has opened the bowling for Gujarat Titans over the last two years. He wanted to swing the new balls against Gujarat Titans and I don’t see anything wrong with what Pandya did,”

Hardik was also criticized for batting at position No. 7 rather than No. 3 or 4. For GT, he batted in the first order. According to Pollard, the management chose to bench Hardik Pandya. The management gave their approval to that choice, which Hardik Pandya did not make.

“Tim David has finished games for us in the past and Hardik has been doing it over the years. We should have given another thought to the situation but it didn’t happen. We will discuss about it. But you can’t blame Hardik Pandya. Let’s put an end to Hardik made a decision. We play as a team and everyone was involved in that call,”
