A dashing Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians exhibited his excellent form during the latest Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game that saw RCB lose against them. Ishan got an opportunity to do justice to his full potential in the shortest format of the game. He scored 69 runs off only 34 balls to set the ground for the Mumbai Indians which eventually laid the perfect foundation for them while chasing 197 runs.
Ishan got out of the South Africa series due to mental fatigue and in the following months, he was not available for international selection. It was he who decided to prepare for the IPL with his MI captain Hardik Pandya even though his head coach Rahul Dravid and the BCCI secretary Jay Shah appealed to him to practice for the Ranji Trophy.
Ishan said: "I practiced." When you take a break, people are the ones who gossip a lot. However, numerous things started being available through social media. The fact that you need to understand this is also that many things are not in the players' hands.
"The only real thing you can do is make use of your time now." Also, the mindset to believe that the previous Shashank Singh has never left a delivery in the first two overs even if they are bowling well. About taking my time I have learned that even twenty overs is quite a serious game: you can take your time and keep the pace. Even if we have lost the matches, we would try to play as a team. Transformation has come up such as even if I am not doing well or sensing that someone else is not performing, I have a one-on-one conversation with that person. I want to know what is going on in their heads. So these are some of the things which were helpful in the break" he added.
