The dynamic opening batsman Jason Roy is out of the IPL 2024, and KKR has selected Phil Salt, another overseas player, to take his place. Roy withdrew for personal reasons, and Phil Salt, who played for the Delhi Capitals previous season, will re-enter the lucrative league after going unsold in the December 2023 IPL auction. Phil Salt was purchased for his reserve price of 1.5 crore.

Phil Salt is no less than Jason Roy -

Phil Salt is an aggressive opener like Jason Roy, but his ability to keep wickets gives KKR additional choices. KKR was lacking a decent keeper, so this could be a blessing in disguise for the team captained by Shreyas Iyer.

Phil Salt performed well in the IPL 2023 by smashing 218 runs in 9 matches including two 50s.

Phil Salt is in great form -

Phil Salt has also been playing quite well lately. During the IPL auction last year (2023), he crushed back-to-back T20I hundreds against the West Indies. He would be eager to prove his talent in the IPL 2024 and help KKR.
