Virat Kohli, the star batsman for India, has often had his spot in the squad called into doubt before the T20 World Cup in 2024. Even though Virat was outstanding for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, it is still unknown what position he would play for India in the T20 World Cup. Unless he chooses to open, Virat doesn't deserve a spot in Matthew Hayden's squad.
"A left-right combination is required. Five right-handers in a row are not allowed. Zampa would just say hello to Australia. In my team, Kohli must start at the top or he won't play. He's in scorching form right now, Hayden stated on ESPNCricinfo.
"As a versatile player, Rohit does not hesitate to take big shots in the middle order. In Twenty20 International Cricket, he has a solid record at No. 4. He can also take the team's batting group forward from the early middle order," he continued.
"I think Virat should start the World Cup at number three. He is an efficient machine. Yashasvi will do admirably as an opener since he is playing well. At a Delhi event, Raina said reporters, "I think Virat should play at No. 3 because the pitches and conditions in the United States are expected to be slow."
