In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli surpassed Chris Gayle to take the top spot on the record of the most sixes by a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player. This happened on Friday during the team's game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. To take the lead, Kohli hit his 240th six in the IPL. In actuality, throughout his fluid knock that evening, Kohli hit four fours and as many sixes.

Kohli had also overtook former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Suresh Raina to the top of the list of Indians with the most catches in T20 cricket.
