Every year the organization awards many different awards to the players in the IPL based on their performance and Orange Cap and Purple Cap are one of them.
The Orange Cap is an honor given to the top run scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament. The player with the Orange Cap wears it while fielding to represent their position as the leading run-scorer. If two or more players have the same number of runs, the player with the higher batting average receives the Orange Cap. If both runs and batting averages are tied, the player who has scored the most runs in fewer innings wins the prize.
The Purple Cap is an award presented to the leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament. The player who takes the most wickets during an IPL season is awarded the Purple Cap. Notably, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only Indian player to have won the Purple Cap twice, in 2016 and 2017.
The Purple Cap holder signifies the top bowler of the tournament, and their exceptional performance can potentially earn them a call-up to the Indian national team. It's worth mentioning that no uncapped player has ever won the Purple Cap in IPL history, and all winners have played at least one match for their respective countries.
