Lance Klusener has joined the Lucknow Super Giants as their assistant coach for the 2017 Indian Premier League season. Klusener becomes a member of the backroom staff that head coach Justin Langer will oversee. The former all-rounder from South Africa is the head coach of the LSG SA20 team, the Durban Super Giants, who finished the season with a championship.

Having worked as a member of the coaching staff of the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, Klusener has prior IPL coaching experience. In 2023, Klusener led the Guyana Amazon Warriors to their first-ever CPL championship. He has even held coaching positions with the Lyca Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League and the Rajshahi Kings in the Bangladesh Premier League.
Klusener has coached South Africa and Zimbabwe in various positions in addition to serving as head coach for Afghanistan during his time on the international circuit.
