Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja are out of the squad leading to injury and Kohli has cited his personal reasons. These star players are already out of the squad and it the chances are very slight that they will join the squad. Again due to injury, India's stellar batter Shreyas Iyer might end up missing the final three Test matches of the five-match series against England. Iyer has reportedly complained of back stiffness and groin pain while hitting, which could prevent the hitter from playing in the remaining games, according to an Indian Express article. The article went on to say that while all of the Indian cricket team's uniforms were shipped from Vishakhapatnam to Rajkot, Iyer's equipment was shipped to his Mumbai residence. It is anticipated that Iyer will undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru as his next course of action.
Iyer has informed the Indian team management and the medical staff that his back gets stiff after playing more than 30 balls and he feels pain in his groin while playing forward defense
~a source told The Indian Express.
Post surgery, he is facing this issue for the first time so he has been advised to rest for a few weeks. He will head to NCA later
Meanwhile, an Indian Express article claims that Virat Kohli has not informed the BCCI of the date of his return to the squad. But the moment he made himself accessible, the selectors would pick him for the team.
Virat will decide when he wants to make a comeback to the Indian side. He hasn't informed us till now but whenever he decides to play, he will be included in the team," a BCCI official was quoted.
While representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention. The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management have extended its support to the star batter,"
~the BCCI had said in a statement after Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests against England.
