Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka as temporary replacements for Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch, as the 3 players will be leaving the franchise for their national duties after MI's last league game against the Punjab kings on Monday (26th May, 2025).
The Mumbai Indians have yet to book a place in the playoffs. The replacement players will only be available if they secure a playoff berth.

England wicketkeeper-batter Bairstow, unsold at the mega auction, will join for INR 5.25 crore. He comes in as a replacement for allrounder Jacks, who's in England's white-ball squad for the limited-overs series against the West Indies at home, which kicks off on May 29.
Fast bowler Richard Gleeson, also from England, will join at a reserve price of INR 1 crore and replace Ryan Rickelton, who will be leaving for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) assignment. Charith Asalanka will come in at a reserve price of INR 75 lakhs for Corbin Bosch, who's also been named in South Africa's squad for the WTC final at Lord's.
The Mumbai Indians are currently placed at the 4th spot with 7 wins in 12 games. A win against the Delhi Capitals at home will seal the playoff spot for the 5-time champions.
