For nearly five years, Shakib has been the top player in ODI cricket; but, a persistent injury concern and some strong recent performances from Nabi have caused a shift in the position.
Mohammed Nabi is ranked first after scoring 136 in the first round of Afghanistan's three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, and the 39-year-old also took a wicket in the same game to move up one spot to seventh in the latest ODI bowling rankings.

South African spinner Keshav Maharaj remains at the top of that list, but Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga (up 14 positions to climb to 26th) and Dilshan Madushanka (up four places to 33rd) join Nabi in making some progress in the most recent set of rankings.
After an outstanding start to their series with Afghanistan, three Sri Lankan players have closed the gap on former Pakistan captain Babar Azam in the ODI batting rankings.
Pathum Nissanka moves up ten places to 18th after scoring a double century in the series opener, while Sadeera Samarawickrama moves up six spots to 41st after scoring a stunning half-century. Charith Asalanka advances five places to 15th overall after his undefeated 97 in the second match of the series. But overall, Babar Azam remains at the top of the ICC Batters ranking.
The top of the Test rankings hasn't changed much; India's Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate the bowlers' competition, while Kane Williamson has expanded his lead among hitters with two centuries in the opening Test against South Africa.
