Former India captain and World Cup winner MS Dhoni received an invitation to the highly awaited "Pran Pratishtha ceremony" at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. On Monday, January 15, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings received the invitation at his Ranchi home.

Dhananjay Singh, the co-province secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), extended the invitation to MS Dhoni. Karmaveer Singh, the General Secretary of the BJP State Organisation, was also there when the former cricket player received an official invitation to the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

After players like Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni is the most recent cricketer to be invited to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir. Sachin Tendulkar received the invitation at his Mumbai home only on January 13. Over 6,000 individuals nationwide have received invitations from the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. On January 22, a large number of celebrities from a variety of fields are anticipated to attend the Ram Temple celebration with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi as well in the queue.

PM made a request -

Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised the "Ram Devotees" not to over-crowd Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on the day of consecration, even as the city is getting ready for the historic event. He said that the public is welcome to visit the Mandir once the official program is concluded on January 22.

I have a request to all. Everyone has a wish to come to Ayodhya to be a part of the event on 22 January. But you know everyone can't come. Therefore, I request all Ram devotees that once the formal program is done on 22nd January, they should come to Ayodhya at their convenience and do not make up their minds to come to Ayodhya on 22nd January

Notably, MS Dhoni celebrated the New Year with his family and friends in Dubai before travelling back to Ranchi. Earlier this month, Dhoni started training at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium in Ranchi in preparation for the 2024 Indian Premier League.

After concluding the Chennai Super Kings to victory in the 2023 Indian Premier League, Dhoni had knee surgery to address a chronic injury. Dhoni has been putting in a lot of effort to make sure he is fully healthy for the start of the IPL season in 2024, as he has declared that he will play again.

August 15, 2020, marked Dhoni's retirement from international cricket. Despite hanging up his boots from international cricket, the wicketkeeper-batter has continued to play in the Indian Premier League, helping CSK win two titles.
