Veteran Bangladeshi Wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim has called time on his ODI Career. The Keeper-Batter attributed his decision to having to face some ''Challenging times'' in the recent weeks that led him to draw curtains on his ODI Career.
Rahim made his decision public through his Facebook page where he stated that the team had limited success at the International level but he gave his 100% on the field whenever he took the field for Bangladesh.
"Today, I am announcing my retirement from ODI Cricket. Alhamdulillah for everything, our achievements have been limited on the cricket field at the International level but I always gave my more than 100% for Bangladesh as a player".
“The recent weeks have been very challenging for me & I have now realized that this is my destiny, I want to thank my family, friends & most importantly the fans for whom I've played International cricket for 19 years" he added.

Mushfiqur retires as Bangladesh’s second-highest run-scorer in ODI history with 7795 runs from 274 games that include 9 centuries and 49 fifties. He scored these runs at an average of 36.42. He also has 243 catches & 56 stumpings to his name as a wicket-keeper.
The veteran Bangladeshi Wicket-Keeper Batter had a forgettable outing in the Champions Trophy, where he registered a golden duck against India, while he could score just 2 runs against New Zealand whereas, the third game between Bangladesh & Pakistan was abandoned due to rain with no toss taking place.
Mushfiqur made his ODI debut in 2006 – the same year he led Bangladesh at the U19 World Cup – and scored his first half-century against Zimbabwe in Harare. His second half-century came in a memorable win over India at the 2007 ODI World Cup in the Caribbean.
Mushfiqur retired from the T20I format in September 2022 to focus on test & ODI cricket. Mushfiqur is now just 6 tests away from becoming the fist Bangladeshi player to have played 100 test matches.
